The Memorial for the 30th Anniversary and 4th Anniversary, respectively, of the passing of Zen Master Su Bong and Myong Hae Sunim JDPS was held at Su Bong Zen Monastery on the evening of 17th July.
Departing from the usual practice of chanting, this Memorial featured video clips of the teachings of Zen Master Su Bong and Myong Hae Sunim, as well as the sharing of encounters with our departed teachers by Zen Master Dae Bong and Zen Master Jok Um. These enabled the participants to review and to understand more deeply the messages our teachers had tried to convey to us, through both words and deeds. After a dharma talk by Zen Master Dae Kwan, sunims, students and other participants offered flowers as a token of respect.
With a clear mind, and a mind as vast as the sky, we are always in the presence of the two teachers and their teachings.
