From the Buddha’s Birthday in May this year to the Completion Day, the lotus lanterns in Su Bong Zen Centre and the outdoor lanterns in Gak Su Temple have already been put up for three months. During this time, Sunims and students had been chanting the Great Dharani for an hour every afternoon except on Mondays. On the Completion Day, we chanted Kwan Seum Bosal, while Sunims read out each name on the dedication list. The ceremony ended with dhamma talks by Bon Son Sunim JDPS and Sifu ( Zen Master Dae Kwan). In particular, Sifu reminded us to learn from the purity of the lotus, which remains untainted by mud. She also encouraged us to nurture brightness in our mind, to light up the path for ourselves and for others. After lunch, we worked together to take down the lotus lanterns, and some of us brought them back home, together with their purity and brightness.
