After one and a half year of renovation, the Hae Su Zen Centre, which has a history spanning over 90 years (formerly known as Hae Su Temple), successfully held its grand opening ceremony on 27th of October 2024.
The event was attended by nearly 300 guests who came to celebrate. Among the attendees were lay Bodhisattvas who supported the renovation, Venerable Yuen Quing, Venerable Wai Wing, Venerable Chuan Deng, Sanghas from various temples in Luk Wu on Lantau Island, and teachers of International Kwan Um School of Zen including Zen Master Soeng Hyang and Zen Master Bon Soeng from US, as well as Zen Master Tan Wol from Korea.
We are deeply grateful for the compassionate blessings of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the dedication of Zen Master Dae Kwan and the Sangha members of Subong Zen Monastery, as well as the contributions of designers, structural engineers, volunteers and devotees from all trades. Their collective efforts have brought this zen centre, which belongs to everyone, to fruition.
