If we want to make the horse run, we need three basic pieces of equipment: reins, saddles, and a whip.
To have fruitful results in life, these three equipments could also help us, especially in the year of the horse.
The reins represent our practice of A for awareness. We have to be aware of our clear direction — what are you doing right now?
The saddle represents our practice of B for breathing. Breathing helps our body and mind to stay stable in a relaxed mode and enables them to do their job well.
The whip represents our practice of C for clear mind and a strong center. Whenever our mind is not clear, we have to whip our mind to wake up and keep clear. The whip helps our mind to return to zero.
Zero mind is clear mind. Clear mind is like a clear mirror. Clear mirror has clear reflection. In this way, our decisions will be clear and precise, and we can act upon any situation with wisdom and compassionate love.
Sometimes when the horse does not listen or goes against us, we have to whip the horse harder with the practice of 'don‘t make anything'. Let go of our fears and uncertainties that create competition and complicate matters. Simply open our pure 'don’t Know mind' and just do what is necessary in front of us. Don‘t worry about the results.
We need to use these tools repeatedly and frequently with joyful effort. In the end, the horse will bring us to a safe place with fruitful experiences.
There is a Chinese saying that when the horse arrives, everything is achieved.
May this horse year bring us Good Health, Happiness and Dharma Joy. Attain all wishes with no hindrance.
A clear mind that's at ease brings peace to the whole universe.
Spring comes; an auspicious and harmonious Great Earth appears.
Wishing You All A Happy New Year of the Horse!
